Estudio Marte se complace en anunciar la apertura de una residencia internacional para artistas de todas las disciplinas.

Tras 9 años de trabajo en la curaduría de exposiciones y hospedando artistas en la Ciudad de México, Estudio Marte expande su propuesta anunciando la apertura de una residencia en el Estado de Oaxaca, en el municipio de Tlalixtac de Cabrera, a 10 minutos de la ciudad de Oaxaca.

Estudio Marte is pleased to announce the opening of an international residency for artists of all disciplines.

After nine years of curating exhibitions and hosting artists in Mexico City, Estudio Marte is expanding its offering by announcing the opening of a residency in the state of Oaxaca, in the municipality of Tlalixtac de Cabrera, 10 minutes from Oaxaca City.

SOBRE REMO

Desde sus orígenes en la colonia Sta. Ma. la Ribera (CDMX), el proyecto de Estudio Marte ha contribuido a la profesionalización y visibilización de la práctica de los artistas según sus intereses y necesidades. Manteniendo este espíritu de autonomía artística y experimentación, damos la bienvenida a la Residencia Estudio Marte Oaxaca, en donde esta búsqueda da un paso más en su consolidación ofreciendo espacio (estudio y alojamiento) para 4 artistas simultáneamente en su sede en Tlalixtac de Cabrera, Oaxaca. Residencia Estudio Marte Oaxaca ofrece instalaciones retiradas y de lujo en casa ABAGO, ideales para lograr un equilibrio entre trabajo y descanso que fomentan un tiempo-espacio destinado a la investigación y producción artística, a tan sólo 20 minutos de distancia del centro de la ciudad de Oaxaca. Los artistas residentes tendrán la opción y oportunidad de expandir su experiencia de trabajo, producción y networking dentro de la comunidad y los distintos espacios de Estudio Marte.

Since its origins in the Sta. Ma. la Ribera neighborhood of Mexico City, the Estudio Marte project has contributed to the professionalization and visibility of artists' practices based on their interests and needs. Maintaining this spirit of artistic autonomy and experimentation, we welcome the Estudio Marte Oaxaca Residency, where this quest takes another step in its consolidation by offering space (studio and accommodation) for four artists simultaneously at its headquarters in Tlalixtac de Cabrera, Oaxaca. Estudio Marte Oaxaca Residency offers secluded and luxurious facilities at the ABAGO house, ideal for achieving a balance between work and rest that fosters a dedicated time and space for artistic research and production, just 20 minutes away from the center of Oaxaca City. Resident artists will have the option and opportunity to expand their work, production, and networking experience within the community and the various spaces at Estudio Marte.

CONVOCATORIA

La Residencia Estudio Marte Oaxaca funciona mediante una convocatoria permanente, sujeta a un proceso de selección por parte del equipo de REMO y la disponibilidad de los espacios. La duración mínima de las residencias es de 1 mes. Se sugiere un periodo de entre 1 y 3 meses. En caso de que el proyecto lo requiera, es posible prolongar la estancia si se considera pertinente y hay disponibilidad.

Todos los residentes deberán abonar el importe total de su estancia antes de su llegada. Estudio Marte ofrece apoyo mediante cartas de invitación/colaboración para los artistas que soliciten subvenciones.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

The Estudio Marte Oaxaca Residency operates through an ongoing call for applications, subject to a selection process by the REMO team and space availability. The minimum duration of residencies is one month. A period of between one and three months is suggested. Should the project require it, an extension is possible if deemed appropriate and space is available.

All residents must pay the full amount of their stay prior to arrival. Estudio Marte offers support through letters of invitation/collaboration for artists applying for grants.

El programa de producción de REMO ofrece varias sesiones de acompañamiento durante la estancia. Durante la primera semana, ofrecemos sesiones de pedagogía y teorías del arte de manera online. La segunda semana, se llevan a cabo actividades relacionadas con la curaduría. En el transcurso de la tercera semana, desarrollamos un taller que abarca las cuestiones de RP y ventas, y se finaliza con sesiones de tasación durante la cuarta y última semana de la residencia.

Oaxaca es un Estado reconocido por su diversidad artística, cultural y natural. Por este motivo, en REMO organizamos dos salidas a diferentes puntos de Oaxaca para descubrir y dejarnos maravillar por todo lo que este Estado ofrece a sus visitantes, con el fin de enriquecer la experiencia de la residencia y vincularnos un poco más con el territorio.

REMO's production program offers several mentoring sessions throughout the residency. During the first week, we offer online art theory and pedagogy sessions. The second week features curatorial-related activities. During the third week, we hold a workshop covering PR and sales, and the program concludes with appraisal sessions during the fourth and final week of the residency.

Oaxaca is a state renowned for its artistic, cultural and natural diversity. For this reason, at REMO, we organize two outings to different parts of Oaxaca to discover and marvel at everything this state offers its visitors. This enriches the residency experience and fosters a deeper connection with the region.
