Víctor del Oral

Del Oral works with the agony of writing and its conventional formats.
She twists the text and transforms it into contexts and pretexts, using contradiction as a tool to generate questions about how we communicate. Her practice explores identity as a constant negotiation and tension between language and landscape, constructing inhabitable and deployable texts through performative mechanisms.
Architecture becomes literature, poems become objects, and letters become bodies.
"For me, art is another way of doing philosophy, of being in the world and being in the word."
Over the last 10 years, she has worked on developing "Lecto_esculturas": living installations that integrate the body and the act of reading and writing as fundamental to their structure. Wordplay, letters, and typographic elements are incorporated to reflect on the relationship between language and the world in a dynamic process that enters into conversation with philosophy. His sculptural, graphic, and choreographic methods oscillate between the visual and the linguistic, constantly transposing the text into its texture.
